Dragging and Dropping the Scrivener document icons

Icon Drag and Drop Functions:

Nearly Every File/Folder Icon icon in the software can be dragged and dropped, and serve as a proxy for the file it represents.

Possible Uses:

The Editor —

Creating a direct link in a space in the file or a hyperlink by dragging onto highlighted text.

Dragging the Icon into the other split editor view window to open the file in the editor. (This also holds for a Copyholder pane as well)

Inspector —

Dragging into the bookmark pane for a file or folder to create project wide bookmarks or document bookmarks.

The Binder —

Dragging the file/folder onto a collection tab to assign it to that collection. (Cannot drop into a Dynamic Collection, only static ones.)

Corkboard and Outliner —

Dragging file/folder icons into the Corkboard or Outliner view in the other split and this WILL change the Binder order.

Note: You can do the reverse and drag a file/folder icon back inside the Binder and reposition it from the Editor view of the Corkboard or Outliner.
